Canton Beach is located on Tuggerah Lake which is only five minutes away from the ocean at Norah Head and enjoys a year-round temperate climate. The Norah Head region is famous for its spectacular coastal scenery and great surfing conditions.

There are several beautiful surfing beaches within an easy five minute drive which includes Lakes Beach, Hargraves Beach and Soldiers Beach.

Canton Beach

Soldiers Beach is a patrolled beach that faces a south easterly aspect and is a very popular spot for keen surfers; with waves of up to 1.5 metres frequently seen under the right conditions.

Birds Walking Canton Beach

The Tuggerah Lakes area includes Tuggerah Lake, Budgewoi Lake and Lake Munmorah. These large saltwater lakes encompass a combined area of approximately 80 square kilometres and provide an ideal area for enjoying recreational water sports. The lakes are well suited for boating, sailing, waterskiing, jet skiing, sailboarding, kayaking and great fishing.

Ocean water activities such as swimming, surfing, snorkelling, scuba diving and fishing are always very popular. There are also beaches around that are safe for children to swim with the rock pool at Norah Head being quite popular.

There is also a stunning historic light house located at Norah Head that was built in 1903 which is worth seeing and presents some excellent photo opportunities.

The Wyrrabalong National Park is located approximately 5 kilometres from Canton Beach and offers a wide variety of flora and fauna. There are areas of natural rain forest, red gum forest, open scrub and wetlands that provide some stunning natural bush scenery. A series of walking tracks lets you explore these beautiful areas at your own leisure.

Birds Walking Canton Beach

Over a kilometer of beautiful flat grassy area surrounds the lake foreshore around Canton Beach which is located directly opposite our Waterfront Tourist Park. This area is perfect for family picnics, BBQ’s, children’s playing areas or just relaxing. Just across the road we have a sealed track suitable for walking or cycling and enjoying the fabulous lakeside scenery. A sealed boat ramp with suitable trailer parking is only 30 seconds from your cabin.

There are plenty of eating places, local clubs and lots of fun activities to be enjoyed in our local area. Also included is an aquatic centre, lawn bowls, tennis courts and a scenic eighteen hole golf course at Toukley.
